Victoria County Public Health Emergency Preparedness
Victoria County Public Health Emergency Preparedness (PHEP) Department works to prepare, prevent and respond to potential natural and man-made public health emergencies through planning, development and staff training. We work with various partners in the community, (i.e., law enforcement, medical services, and school districts) to accomplish this goal.
PHEP organizes and conducts training and exercises for pandemic influenza, Strategic National Stockpile (SNS) deployment, and other response activities.
PHEP also educates residents regarding disease prevention and control.
We receive reports of infectious disease from health care professionals, schools, daycares, and individuals. Each case of infectious disease is promptly investigated to determine the cause. Immediately following the investigation, appropriate control measures are established to prevent the spread of infection. All case reporting and records are confidential.
