Shannon has been a public health nurse for over 20 years. After graduating cum laude with an associate’s degree in nursing from Midland College in Midland, Texas, she started her public health career at the Midland Health Department. Shannon began her career at the Victoria Public Health Department in 2004. Shannon is the Immunization program manager, the Perinatal Hepatitis B Prevention Program manager, and the vaccine preventable disease investigator.
Shannon has been a member/co-chairperson of the Crossroads Immunization Action Coalition. She obtained her certification in infection control in 2020. She received the “You make a difference” award from the Victoria Independent School District in 2021 for her work with schools and school nurses during the Covid-19 pandemic.
