What's Involved in a Home Visit?
- Parents will receive personal visits from a certified parent educator offering timely, age-appropriate information including:
- Prenatal care for healthy fetal growth and development
- What to expect as your child grows and develops
- How to encourage intellectual development, curiosity and language development
- Focused observations using child development information
- Confidential discussion of parenting concerns
- Fun activities to help your child prepare for school
Visits are scheduled at a convenient time and place for both the family and parent educator.
During home visits, parent educators share development information and ideas based on the child's age, discuss parenting concerns, and share fun activities that help parents and children play together.
Home visits are also a chance for parents to share what their child has been doing, ask questions and follow up on ideas the parent educator has offered.
